Eco-Frendly Environmentally Safe Green Recipes for the Yard and Garden

Home Made Insecticidal Soap

To safely control mites, whiteflies, aphids, thrips small scales and leafhoppers.

  • 2 tablespoons liquid dishwashing detergent
  • 1 gallon water

If you prefer, use clean, empty, 1 quart spray bottles. Fill with water first (unless you really like seeing lots of bubbles) then add 1/2 teaspoon soap. Spray on a fairly cool day after the plants have been wetted down with the garden hose. If applied on a hot day the soap may burn some plants. Always test a non-visible area before you spray the whole plant.
