Mouth-Watering Recipes for Meat Eaters

 

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Sprinkle 4 lean chops (1/2-3/4") with salt and pepper. Brown in oil in skillet. Put chops in baking dish and pour around chops 1 can cream mushroom, 2/3 cup evaporated milk and 1/3 cup water mixed together. Bake at 350 degrees 45 minutes. Stir gravy well.

Instead of baking, you can cover and cook in skillet over low heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

 

Hawaiian Ham

1 inch thick slice of ham
ground cloves
ground mustard
brown sugar
sliced pineapple

Place 1 inch thick slice of ham in casserole pan.

Sprinkle lightly with ground cloves, ground mustard and brown sugar.

Cover ham with sliced pineapple.

Pour pineapple juice over all to a depth of 1/2 inch.

Bake 450° 1 1/2 hours

 

Baked Spare Ribs and Sauerkraut

2 lbs sauerkraut
3 lbs spare ribs

Place 2 lbs sauerkraut in the bottom of a roasting pan. Cut up 3 lbs spare ribs and place on top of the sauerkraut. Salt and pepper the ribs and bake for 450° for 2 1/2 hours or until meat pulls away from the bone.

This could also be cooked in a crock pot instead of the oven.

 

Old-Timey Meat Loaf

1 lb ground round steak
1/2 lb lean ground pork
1 cup cracker crumbs
3 eggs
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon chopped onion
pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups sweet milk

Mix ground meats, cracker crumbs, beaten eggs, salt, onion, pepper and milk together. Pour into a non-stick or greased loaf pan and shape the mixture into loaf form.

 

Hamburg Steak

1 1/2 pounds ground round steak
1/4 cups cracker crumbs
1 egg
salt, pepper
1 tablespoon chopped onion

Mix all ingredients and mold into small balls.

Fry in hot oil until very brown. Serves 4 people.

 

3 Meat Loaf

1 1/2 pounds ground veal
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1 cup cracker or bread crumbs
3 eggs
salt, pepper, chopped parsley as desired
2 small to medium sized onions, chopped
pepper to taste
1 tablespoon tomatoe juice sweet milk

Mix meats, cracker crumbs, beaten eggs, salt, onion, pepper and tomatoe juice together. Pour into a non-stick or greased loaf pan and shape the mixture into loaf form.
